Hi! I'm Dharmesti...
A Coach and Trainer in Emotional Intelligence

My EQ journey started around 2014 when I decided to leave my comfortable corporate life of 25 years and changed the gear to become a coach and trainer in emotional intelligence.

I’m a mother of 3 children and also an active volunteer at CISV International, a global non-profit organization. My daily activities have very high interactions with people, both in my professional or personal lives.

Then, I realized that to be able to perform in your role, your knowledge, IQ, and expertise were not enough.

These elements, of course, are very important in producing good results but as a Human Resources person, I experienced that without emotional intelligence, people would have a lot of challenges in performing well especially in their relationships with others and there is no role in this world where you can do everything by yourself. My budget in training and development was focusing on hard skills areas. It was not easy to convince the senior management that we needed to teach people to be smarter with their feelings in order to perform.

Emotional intelligence was being undervalued and many senior and experienced people thought that they don’t have any issue in managing their emotions. At the same time, the majority of frictions and unhappiness among the employees were caused by their relationships with the boss, colleagues and subordinates. This lack of engagement has a significant impact on their performance. This situation was very consistent, whether you were in your office, with your friends, family or when you were serving as a volunteer. At that time, I was very convinced that EQ was one of the key success of a person, a team or even an organization. But I didn’t know exactly what were the elements of EQ and how could we practice and improve our EQ.

My curiosity has led me to

Six Seconds is a Global EQ Network where I took several certifications to prepare myself as a coach and trainer of this powerful and yet learnable skill. My engagement with Six Seconds is still very intense and I keep updating myself with the new training and certifications.

With my passion for emotional intelligence, I will always in my journey to keep learning and applying emotional intelligence in every aspect of my life. Hopefully, through EQMore I would be able to share, coach and train people on emotional intelligence, because emotions drive people and people drive performance.
